BUBBA'S BIG TACO (Latest News) Welcome to Jacosun.com, the best magazine in Costa Rica! The primary focus of this e-mag is to expose the rest of the world to a little place that is worth traveling to for vacation, retirement, getaway home, or just a quick visit, Jacó Beach, Costa Rica!
If you haven’t heard about the amazing country of Costa Rica, let us provide a few facts: Costa Rica is the oldest and most stable government in Central America. Costa Rica is known as the “Switzerland” of Latin America. Costa Rica has a 95% literacy rate. An American woman, Henrietta Boggs, from Montgomery, Alabama is known as Costa Rica's “FIRST LADY OF THE REVOLUTION”! Her husband, President Jose Figueres Ferrer (also known as Don Pepe), is considered the “Father of the Costa Rican Constitution and in 1948 completely disbanded the Costa Rican army, using the military funds to improve the country. To learn more about this very special place, visit the Miscellaneous section of jacosun.com for more “Costa Rica Facts”. If you want more Jaco Beach "digital details", join us by reading various little stories and watching video clips that show activities, restaurants, scenery and hotels that visitors from all over the world enjoy here. If there is only one thought that I can convey to someone that is contemplating coming for a visit, it would be---Hurry! Not that you will miss some special Holiday Travel Package, although that is possible, it is actually more of a subtle thing. Jaco’, Costa Rica is a small beach town that is in transition to becoming the #1 travel destination in Latin America. World Travel Awards voted Jaco Beach The Leading Beach for 2007! The secret of Jaco’ has been discovered some time ago and because people from all over the world have come here and loved it and told their friends, this little town is changing into a “little big town”. To illustrate, yesterday a runaway horse (a walkaway horse is more accurate) strutted down Main Street, followed by a couple of SUVs and a bus. Whiplash-necked second glances came mostly from tourists. In the mornings, seeing a string of saddled horses being led down Main Street past newly erected hotels toward Jaco’ Beach for horseback riding patrons is still a normal thing. There is so much “progress” advancing in this place, with the construction of new hotels, casinos, restaurants, boat marinas, etc., that hopefully, the commercial aspect of the newly emerging Jaco Beach will not take the “Pura Vida” out of it. Pura Vida is the national saying, literally meaning, “Pure Life”. More than just words, Pura Vida has become a lifestyle of tolerance and kindness. The newest essential travel item to bring is a laptop computer! Jaco, Costa Rica is WiFi heaven! For all that is happening to their little town, the Jacotistas (my description) are handling everything better than most of us could. The inhabitants of the Planet Costa Rica are warm, friendly and compassionate. I tell visitors arriving from other parts of the Galaxy that the locals here are more like how we (in the U.S.A.) used to be in our grandparents or great grandparents time. Sometimes my description doesn’t hit home until later. The flavor of this little beach town is ultimately unique, and its special location in Costa Rica, makes Jaco’ the best travel destination for use as a launching pad to all the many wondrous and amazing sights that this country has to offer.
